Let me preface this by saying that I greatly admire Cenk Uygur and the entire TYT network, especially their campaign to try and reverse Citizens United. I've been a fan for about 5 years now, am subscribed to their many channels on YouTube, and support them with a 10 dollar a month membership on their official website. However, I have to call out this BS when I see it.
A few nights ago on Twitter, I noticed that Cenk Uygur of The Young Turks posted some blathering video about how fake Hillary Clinton is because she named the Bible as a source of inspiration. Whatever, I didn't really care either way and didn't respond.
Then I saw him getting into a Twitter altercation with another tweeter in which the person told him to "get the fuck off Hillary's back". The person also said "if we denigrate hillary and she's the nominee... it will weaken her.. lets promise not to hurt ANY dems just positively support".
I saw this and decided to respond to both this person and Cenk and said "think about SCOTUS. isnt it why we're in the shithole we're in. CU, Mecutchen. Only a (D) pres can reverse that".
Cenk then seized on this and decided to say "I honestly believe you guys are paid by Hillary campaign. No way, four Hill-bots out of nowhere is random." "Did Team Hillary start paying trolls this early? At least they're working hard."
Tonight on the live episode of TYT he also went on to say that the Hillary campaign is hiring people on Twitter to attack anyone who speaks out against her, and that they shouldn't waste their time attacking him because he'll never change his mind about Hillary. How egotistical and delusional can he be to think that the Hillary people are sending out "bots" because they're worried about what Cenk Uygur is saying on Twitter?!
But the part that pissed me off the most is that I am a huge fan of his and admire what he does on his network. To call a member of your paying audience a "Hill-bot" and a troll is inexcusable. I tweeted this to him asking for an apology and of course he didn't respond. I considered ending my membership at TYT, but decided against it.
I have no issues with him not supporting Hillary, he's free to choose whomever he wants to support. But the minute he starts floating the idea that Rand Paul would be a better president, which he subliminally mentioned on tonight's show, he will lose ALL credibility with me and will lose a fan of 5 years.
This is what he said on tonight's show regarding last nights twitter incident.
(Reading a twitter question from a viewer): "Which is worse? Hillary supporting a war or Rand Paul opposing it?" That's a pretty good question Alex. I'm not saying anything, I'm just saying. Oh by the way, this weekend the Hillary bots showed up for the first time. I wrote something about Hillary on Twitter...six Hillary bots showed up in the middle of the night. Okay, I'm like oh they're starting to spend money on her campaign, that's interesting. They were like "you shouldn't criticize a fellow Democrat" Oh please spare me, if you're trying to get me to not criticize Hillary Clinton you're wasting your time. Go ahead, keep spending that money.
Clearly implying that he thinks the Hillary campaign (which doesnt even exist atm) had hired the twitter users, myself included, to yell at Cenk over a tweet. ::rolls eyes::
