In April when Trump was convicted of 34 felonies I thought, “it’s a wrap”. No way he can be elected again.
Fast forward 6 months and he’s neck and neck. I can’t imagine a better gift to Democrats than your opponent being a literal convicted felon (except maybe being on Jeffrey Epstein’s call logs) and yet for some reason I haven’t seen a single ad hammer away at the fact that the GOP nominated a felon.
They should be shouting it from the rooftops. It’s not hyperbole. You can literally splice a 30 second tv ad just from a collection of straight news anchors reading off his convictions.
Kamala’s first campaign speech included a line about prosecuting criminals of all kinds, therefore she is familiar with “Donald Trump’s type”. Since those first few campaign rallies she has shied away from even mentioning that he’s a felon. To give her credit she did bring it up at the debate. But not a single ad.
In 2016 the GOP ran on the false notion that Hillary was a criminal. And they did so successfully without any indictments, let alone convictions. They created a narrative and hammered away at it until it stuck. Here 8 years later…no innuendo, no fake news. Just 34 very real felonies awaiting sentencing. And yet the Democratic party, our nominee, the dem aligned super pacs…none of them want to touch it.
Two and a half weeks to go and I think we ought to remind the voters what the court has said about Trump this past spring.
